Are the Kids of Today Even Giving Golf a Chance?

The past few years has shown less and less younger people playing sports like golf. But what is the real reason for this? It certainly isn’t down to kids not wanting to use the electric golf trolleys.

One of the reasons why kids do not wish to play the game is because they really can’t stand to play a game one of their parents play. It can also be said that if a youngster is going to play golf they are bound to be picked on if they are seen wearing some of the outfits golfers have to wear on some of the courses. I remember when i was at school which wasn’t too long ago that the people who played sports like golf were only friends with the other ones that played golf which I always felt was wrong.

Why is it that golf is seen as a old mans sport and not seen like football, tennis, rugby and all the other high profile sports. Although golf is a high profile sport, most children would sadly prefer to play football or rugby than give the sport a chance. To a certain extent this is untrue as I know an 8yr old boy who loves the game and plays it every Saturday.

The only problem is ge wishes to play football and go to gardening club rather than play golf. I just do not see how gardening could be better than playing golf? Is it possible that the game is seen as weird and boring to younger people? I have personally never liked watching or playing the sport and I did give it a chance but I can see why it is enjoyed and liked by so many people.

Golf would far more benefit children than a lot of the sports out there purely as it has standards. Golf is one of the only sports in which you don’t see the majority of the players have a tantrum, swear, fake being fouled or anything of the sort. Golf is also great as it encourages people to go out and do something with their time, either play for a bit of fun or go out and play with the pros if you get that good in a chance to win some serious money.
