Electric Golf Trolleys – Do You Have To Be Over 65 To Benefit From One?

Until very recently, if you had asked me this, my response would have been “Yes”. The main reason is my ego – I am 46 years old, and I have seldom used a pull trolley, never mind an electric golf trolley.

I held this view, because:

- I walk a lot less during a round, because there aren’t any no-go areas if you are carrying a golf bag.
- I can concentrate on my next shot, rather than worrying about my golf trolley being in my playing partner’s way.
- Only old people use electric golf trolleys!

Recently, I have changed my opinion about this. My game has gradually got worse and worse since I turned 40, even though I had increased my practise time to try to correct things. It didn’t matter what I tried, my handicap just kept increasing, so I eventually sat down to look through my score cards to see if I could identify any pattern (e.g. were certain holes ruining my scorecard). This quickly highlighted that most of my high scores happened during the final six or seven holes, which i couldn’t work out, because my three favourite holes are 15, 16 and 18.

It wasn’t until I was discussing my findings during a game, that my usual playing partner said “You are tiring from about hole 11 or 12! You need to save a bit of energy – forget your silly ego about still being young, and treat yourself to an electric golf trolley!”.

Well – I couldn’t forget my ego, so I borrowed my dad’s electric trolley, and I went to the course when i didn’t think any of my usual playing partners would be around. The improvement was startling – the first game, I knocked five shots off my average score, and, even better, I didn’t need a nap when I got home! I used my dad’s trolley about five times in all, and my scores were consistently better than my average, and I felt much less tired – my golf became enjoyable again!

Because the results were so impressive, I bought myself an electric golf trolley, which is the best investment I have made in a piece of golf equipment. My average score is seven shots less than when I used to carry a golf bag, and I don’t need to have a sleep straight after a round! If you are over the age of 35 you would greatly benefit from buying an electric trolley. Being much less tired, allows you to concentrate much better during a round, which helps to stop you from hitting tired shots.

I know I sound a bit like Victor Kiam (if you remember him, you definitely need an electric golf cart!), but “I was so impressed with electric golf trolleys, that I bought a company to sell them”.
