How can I improve in putting for golf?

I always seem to miss my puts, medium to long range putts. How can I improve?

  1. place one ball 3 ft from the hole. then a ball at 6 ft from the hole and so on. when you miss, keep shooting there till you make 5 in a row.

  2. There are a couple things you can do
    Read the green well
stand about a meter behind the ball and neel down behind the ball and look at the lie in front of the hole and aim the ball according the break

Make Sure your putter lies flat on the ground
Have your head over your putter you can see the top of you putter and now you can see the line to the hole
Make sure your putter isn’t tilted if it is then your putter will hit the ground behind the ball and you wont hit it right

  3. Maybe you need to adjust your expectations. Sounds like you’re might be thinking you should 1-putt more medium to long putts than is realistic. Did you know that the average PGA Tour player sinks just 50% of their 8-foot putts? Obviously the % goes down the farther away the putt.
Try taking pressure off of your putting by lagging longer putts to a distance where you can be sure you’ll make the next one. Thinking too much about making the first one may be costing you strokes.
Check out this blog for more food for thought on putting (it’s 40% of the game for everyone, so you’re wise to not overlook it!)

  4. Develop a rhythmic stroke. Take the same amount of time for the back swing as you will for the follow through. In that manner you never have to rush a putt. The length of the back swing of the putter should be the same on the follow through. Start practicing with straight " tap-ins".Then gradually lengthen the distance. First start with straight putts. Later on practice side hill breaking putts. As you progress watch to see how the putts break with varying degrees of slope.

  5. well one I would say see a PGA pro for help, another would be practice keeping your head down for a count of 3-4 before looking to see where the ball went, and also focus on speed more than direction, you can’t hole a putt if it is short of the hole.
