Golf Driver Reviews – Who is Right?

You will find an incredible amount of information about golf drivers on the internet. Some reviews are financially motivated, and some are not. Here’s how to find the perfect driver for you, no matter who you are.

The technology of materials and golf have come a long way in the last 20 years. If you have not looked for a driver in even 4 or 5 years, you will be amazed at how large and technologically advanced most drivers are today. It can be quite overwhelming if you do not know the basics. By becoming educated, you will be able to pick out the perfect driver for you, and forgo the hype put out by the internet and golf pros, who all want you to buy their driver at the steepest price.

First, and foremost, you must consider the size of the driver. The most common size you will see on the market today is the USGA limit of 460cc of volume. This is a very large clubhead and is a direct response to the large-scale availability of titanium. Titanium is much lighter and stronger than steel, and allows the manufacturer to create in incredibly large clubhead with a very small amount of weight.

The next thing to ponder is the launch angle. This is the angle in which the golf ball takes off from the club at impact. Different golfers have different types of swings, tee-positions, body shapes, etc., and each requires a different launch angle. Usually professional golfers prefer lower loft angles of 9 degrees (or sometimes less) to keep the ball flying low and long. If you’ve been golfing for awhile, you should strongly consider a club with a loft angle between 9 and 11 degrees. If you’re just starting out, you should look at one higher than 11 degrees.

These are just 2 of the many aspects of choosing a driver that you need to take into consideration the next time you go shopping for one. Remember: expensive is not always better.

As a golfer, you must understand that you must align your feet, knees, hips, arms, and shoulders with your target. You must learn how to grip the club in such a manner that you do not feel like choking or squeezing something. You will know that you are properly setup once you achieve a balanced position. This simply means that you will not topple over if someone pushes you.

Golf swing trainers will also help you understand the mechanics of the upswing. You must remember that the power of your golf swing largely depends on the torque you are able to create with your body. A proper swing involves a nice shoulder turn and a hinge that will bring your club to the right place. Once you are able to completely wind up your body, you will be able to maximize torque and deliver a complete downswing.

Swing trainers will also help you develop your downswing. During your downswing, you will feel some kind of release in your hips and shoulders. Your wrists will unhinge in a relaxed manner and carry your ball away while your arms go down to impact. You must remember not to decelerate during your downswing as this can negatively affect the accuracy and distance of your golf swing. Do not forget to follow through.

If you want to improve on your golf swing, it is important that you seek help from golf swing trainers. Doing so, you will realize that you already understand the ins and outs of a golf swing which can greatly affect your progress on improving in this game.

Slow Down You Move Too Fast – Golf Swing Basics

If you are a beginner golfer then you know that to make the ball go a long way you need to hit the ball hard and fast, Right?? Well yes and no.

The golf swing basics involve a number of aspects that you need to get right. The speed of your golf club head is only one of these aspects.

There are about a half dozen elements in the basics of a good golf swing and while every one will do them slightly differently, sticking to the golf swing basics will help prevent the beginner golfer from thinking too hard about their golf swing.

The Basics of the Golf Swing

The first part of your golf swing is the mental part. Many would say that this is where most games are won and lost on the golf course. For the starter golfer you never want to look stupid on the first tee when you thwack your ball into the trees or the nearest lake. You need to blank out all thoughts and surroundings when addressing the golf ball and just think about where you plan the ball to go. Do not give any thought time to how you will feel if you miss. Just focus on your shot.

One of the pressurizing aspects of taking a golf shot is that you are always being watched. You have your opponents and maybe the following group watching your every move. You must ignore all of this outside attention and just work through your shot. Make it clear what you are going to do and then do it.

Because you are a beginner it will not always work but that is not the issue. If you are in charge mentally then you will eventually get more right than you will wrong.

Controlling Your Swing Speed for More Accuracy

This is the single simple most important golf tip that you can adopt to improve you accuracy and distance. Control your golf club. If you are swinging your golf club so fast that it is not under full control then you will never get the distance you need. Swing your club as fast as you can while still being in control of the moment of contact. By slowing your club down by up to 30% speed you will actually increase your distance. This is as a result of better contact with the sweet spot of the golf club face.

Whether you are a hooker or a swinger of the golf ball this slowing down of the golf club will ensure better distance and very quickly reduce your banana golf shots. Your swing technique will improve as you take control of the pace of your golf swing.

Another mistake with the speed of your swing is to try and speed up in the last 18 inches before contact with the golf ball. By doing this you will again lose the straight shooting you are looking for. You must make your swing smooth on the backswing and smooth and controlled on the downswing. The club head will naturally gain momentum on the way down. There is no need to force it.

Once you know you have control of the clubhead then you can consider trying to add more speed to your swing. But do not think about the speed when you are hitting the ball. Think about being in control of your swing

Golf Tips – Tempo

Todays tip will be about tempo. I’ve always felt that if the mechanics of one’s golf swing are fairly sound other then that the occasional tune up from your pro, youre going to work on tempo more than anything. Tempo is kind of the glue that holds everything together. We all tend to swing too hard or too fast. Golf is a game of distance, in our minds anyway, more than a game of accuracy. Were all trying to hit the ball farther. If anybody has heard a golfer say they dont want to hit the ball …
