How Online Golf Equipment Reviews Helped My Love Of The Game

When a friend of mine introduced me to golf many years ago, I wasn’t overly impressed and asked him what he saw in the game. He said, “Well, golf means different things to different people. To me, it’s mostly about being away from my busy life for a few hours, being one with nature, and talking to some good friends.” That made sense to me, but I quickly found out what he meant as I became a golfer, too, taking lessons and burying myself in golf equipment reviews.

People do take up golf for different reasons and it does mean something different to almost every player. For some, like my friend, it’s relaxing on a beautiful course and enjoying nature and the scenery. To others it’s a great way to meet with clients and close deals. Some just enjoy an occasional round. Others get hooked and pursue mastery of the game with single-minded passion. But no matter what attracts you to the game of golf, we all have something in common: we need equipment. Lots of it.

Initially I had a real problem with that. Golf shops intimidated me. I didn’t really know much about golf clubs, golf shoes or even golf bags and I was embarrassed about my lack of knowledge. Whenever I went to a pro shop, everyone else seemed to be an expert, knowing everything about golf, except me. I didn’t understand half of what sales people were talking about and I didn’t even understand many of their questions. So I felt they were talking down to me and I resented that.

So I began reading golf books and magazines and asked golfing buddies for advice. I ended up with a good set of clubs, found that some balls worked better for me than others (I am a Titleist man), and spent a small fortune on golf equipment (Nike made a small fortune off me) I did or did not need. Truth be told, my lack of knowledge and my being ill at ease with the sales people in the pro shops probably kept me from enjoying the game as much as I should have.

All of this changed in the past few years. I am an online person. To me, finding accurate and unbiased golf equipment reviews on the web was just what I had been waiting for. I am not talking about just online golf stores or golf bulletin boards. What helped me were sites done by golfing enthusiasts who simply wanted to share their knowledge with others. See, while I used to be aware of the likes of Burton or Ogio or Ping, there wasn’t anyone who told me who truly made the best bag for me. I was told some of the training aids out there really worked while others were a waste of money but I didn’t know which was which. I knew of amazing advancements in golf carts and I had even heard of new technologies like golf gps, but I didn’t know what was valuable information and what was just marketing.

For me, the emergence of golf enthusiast sites with golf equipment reviews made all the difference. I love reading reviews written by real people as opposed to just sales spiels, and I love how some of those sites explain it all in terms that make sense. I love to read and learn, and these days I totally rely on golf sites that are not only entertaining, but also provide me with the reviews I need and even recommendations on where to get the best deals.

Cheap Golf Clubs That Can Improve Your Game

It is general knowledge that the really excellent golf clubs that many professionals use are very expensive ones that not many can afford to buy. This may be true, but it does not necessarily mean that all cheap golf clubs are not capable of bringing you glory at the green. There are many cheap golf clubs out there that are really quite outstanding and are even comparable to the more expensive models.

If you know where to look, there are many cheap golf clubs you can buy that can help improve your performance far better than some of the more costly clubs. I am talking about second hand but high-quality golf clubs. The question is – where do you start looking for these great cheap golf clubs?

If you want to buy some of these excellent but cheap golf clubs, you will have to constantly scan the ads in golf magazines or even in your local newspaper to know where cheap golf clubs are being sold. Many golfers who are quite serious about their game regularly dispose of their old branded clubs in exchange for the newer models that come out in the market. These old clubs usually end up for sale at golf supplies shops at a much lower price.

You might even get firsthand information from serious golfers who might be interested in selling their old golf clubs, and you can even buy these straight from them at an even lower cost. Even if you do not personally know any golfers looking to sell, these kinds of information are quite accessible in the golf community and all you have to do is ask around. You might even be able to get a better deal when buying through friends than if you purchase cheap golf clubs from a store.

The Internet is also a great place to look if you want to buy some cheap golf clubs. You can even compare the prices and quality of several cheap golf clubs before you actually make your purchase.

Another great advantage of buying cheap golf clubs from avid golfers is that there is a great chance that the secondhand cheap golf clubs have been very well maintained by their previous owner. Serious golfers are very particular about their equipment, and you can be almost certain that their golf clubs receive good care while in use.

Moreover, if you are buying cheap golf clubs from the sporting goods store, it is very likely that these cheap golf clubs have been carefully restored to almost brand new condition. No store owner would like to be accused of selling low quality goods, so the cheap golf clubs you are buying have probably been fixed up quite well. Because of this, you might actually be getting better quality from cheap golf clubs than from other new clubs that are being sold.

Golf Shop: Stock The Best Merchandise

Every golf shop should stock competitively priced golfing equipment that should span the gamut of products and also be able to proffer golfing advice as well as expertise for the golfer with better golf swing. Needless to say, the golf shop should provide excellent service and if it is conveniently located so much the better. It should stock the best of branded merchandise that should be supported by manufacturer guarantees as well as provide back-up sales.

A Fun And Easy Shopping Experience

The shopping experience should be fun, easy as well as enjoyable and it would help to have all items of equipment be divided into customer profiles so that there should be left-handed items as well as differently stocked items for low handicappers as well as slicers, starters, as well as affordables and more. A good golf shop should have staff that are well versed with golf and who are committed to providing quality service in all aspects of the golf short game.

The golf shop is also an ideal place to pick up books on golf that may contain the latest rules as well as contain the decisions that may help resolve Rules problems, both simple as well as complicated that may arise from all levels of competitive golf. Such books are treasures that contain many illustrations that help in facilitating better understanding of the game of golf and its laws, and may even lay emphasis on situations that lead to difficulties in tackling situations that most golfers would face every now and then.

One can also pick up items such as Hole in One Ties, Captains & President ties as well as Past Captains & Presidents Ties. There would also be information related to golfing etiquette for the uninitiated as well as for seasoned players, and tips on golfing fitness as well as getting golfing lessons at the golf shop. Online golf shops also abound and for the golfer, shopping over the Internet can provide a relaxing experience that does away with a lot of the shopping travails that one faces such as queues and pushy salespersons.

The golf shop at Torrey Pines is an award winning outlet that encompasses more than 4,000 square feet of area that covers every aspect of golfing equipment for better golf grip as also, the latest fashions including logo items as well as designer labels. Such golf shops set the standards for others to follow and the name itself stirs up the imagination of golfers all round the world.
